TESTIMONIALS

Working with Meghan Taylor was truly a joy. Not only was she professional and timely, but she took the basic concept we discussed and executed it beyond my wildest dreams. The magic she put on our walls makes the space both more energized and welcoming.... and our clientele have responded. Our retention rate has increased since the mural's completion. In a couple more months, the project will have paid for itself. Muralicious! Definitely, if you're thinking about it, do it!

In planning the design for our space we had a challenge to overcome: Our glass-walled conference room was dominated by the view of an ugly concrete block wall. We’d just knocked out an exterior wall in our adjacent lobby, putting in glass to bring natural light into the space, but that overlooked the back of apartment buildings. We were seeking a more outdoor and inspirational feeling for our office; something that reflected our mission, adding color and fun to the space. Meghan Taylor did just that. She listened to our goals and quickly conceptualized them into a mock-up on which we all collaborated. Then we watched as she amazingly transformed our space into exactly what we’d envisioned. Meghan’s a talented artist and she’s also a professional who took the time to understand what we were trying to achieve, and delivered it on time and on budget. Today, her mural is a showpiece in our office that visitors and clients comment on, calling it “inspirational” and “perfect for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.” What more can we ask for?

On Behalf of Glasswing International, we would like to thank you for your exemplary work as a public artist during your visit to San Salvador, El Salvador in November 2009. During your visit, you helped us with several mural projects that were part of our annual Corporate Month of Service. With your professional skills and hours of dedicated service, we were able to develop and implement two school and community projects, benefitting thousands of community members and students in El Salvador.

We would like give a special thanks to your efforts with a public art project at the Felipe Soto Miguel de Cervantes Parks in Barrio San Jacinto. The mural that you designed, sketched, and executed at this park, was the largest public art project in which Glasswing has participated. Your approach and enthusiasm to this project was central to its successful implementation and exemplified Glasswing’s model of assessing local needs and working closely with communities. Specifically, your approach of visiting the site, learning about the community, making initial sketches and presenting them to community leaders and representatives of the local government at the town hall meeting showed a true respect for engaging communities in public art. Your approach was enthusiastically accepted by the local community and resulted in a final product that was reflective of the spirit of San Jacinto.

Your tireless efforts to finish this mural in less than a week’s time allowed Glasswing to complete this project as part of our Corporate Month of Service and call together volunteers from the private sector, from San Jacinto and local schools. During the final day of the project, we were impressed by how you supported volunteers of all ages in painting the mural and empowered them to add their own artistic imprint to the community mural. Ultimately, your work was part of a day of service that brought together dozens of volunteers from different sectors of Salvadorian society to complete a project to benefit the people of San Jacinto.

We would like to note that in our follow-up visits to this community, we have received incredible feedback from the community and local government – including the mayor – regarding their pride in having a work of art of this magnitude and beauty in their park.

Glasswing would again like to sincerely thank you for your amazing contributions as an artist to our efforts to improve schools and communities across El Salvador through volunteerism and revitalization projects . You are most welcome to come and work with us whenever your schedule permits.

We hope to collaborate with you again in the near future.
